One Year

It seems so long ago with the year we have had, but today marks our first anniversary. I know it sounds cliche, but with all that has happened this year, there is no doubt in my mind that I love my wife more today than I ever have. All the ups and downs and all the highs and lows – I would not trade them if it meant I could not be here with Ashley. I love her with all my heart. I am so blessed to be Ashley’s husband, friend and lover.

I could write a lot of things that would mean a lot or I could write a bunch of insights on what I have learned from the first year of marriage, but I am going to choose to post two simple sentences that I meant the first time and I still mean today.

“I, Benjamin Jay Zimmerman, continue to take you Ashley Lauren Zimmerman, to be my wedded wife. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish ’till death do us part.”

Happy First Anniversary Ashley! I love you with all my heart.
