Getting Started Again

Do you ever play the when-then game?

When I have more free time . . . then I will workout.

When I finish this project . . . then I will spend time with that person.

When I have more money . . . then I will give to charities.

When I have a deeper relationship with God . . . then I will mentor someone.

When this . . . and then that. The lists go on and on. In fact I would venture to say that if there was a when-then town, I might be mayor. I am great at creating when-then scenarios.

Today I decided to stop all that.

Actually all I did today is turn this website “on”.  I actually decided a lot needed to change in my life the day after Christmas. That was the day that my first marriage ended and my new journey began. This website is dedicated to new beginnings and starting over. It is a tangible way for me to put an end to the lies and self deception. It is me stepping out of the darkness of my own soul and into the light of God’s grace.

I don’t know if you will want to subscribe to the posts from this site or not, because to be honest, it is going to get messy. We all have issues, demons, skeletons, wounds, weaknesses, habits, hurts and hang-ups. The great thing is that there is more to life than the garbage and the crap. That is what this website is all about. It is about you and me and countless numbers of people who hurt others or have been hurt by others stripping off all the crap and getting honest with ourselves. It might not be easy and it will probably be messy but I would love for you to come join me in conversation, to share your stories, and to travel this road to redemption together.

Will you be a witness? Will you run with me? I can’t do this alone  . . .“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1
